Hampton Inn Portsmouth Central

Hotel seems to be newly renovated. Rooms are nice but need hooks or towel racks in bathroom and I prefer a hand held shower option. Climate control works well and is easy to adjust. Beds, linens and pillows are wonderful. Room has microwave and fridge. Breakfast is very good, with a variety of different options each day and staff is very attentive. People enjoyed making waffles. Location worked well for us, but it is not downtown. The hotel itself was quiet, but there was a lot of noisy construction going on nearby during our stay, which we could watch from our window. My husband really enjoyed watching the machines and the progress. Hotel has a pool and hot tub, and a fitness room. We would stay there again.

Stay was good with no complaints. Front desk staff was friendly and held our bags for a few hours after checking out which was extremely kind. Room was clean and had everything you would need.

Outstanding hotel, for the most part. Clean, comfortable, and fairly priced... but what made the Real Difference was Carla at the front desk. I arrived after driving all day- exhausted .. and am so used to having to drag even eye contact out of a desk manager, it really took me by surprise. She was completely engaged.. totally professional.. had all the answers at the ready - without one stutter or "uh.. " She knows hospitality inside and out. For this reason alone I would return to this hotel. Great big vanities to spread out all the stuff.. great water pressure.. comfortable beds - and the room was clean. Every other staff member I encountered greeted me or at least acknowledged me. Nicely done guys!

A very nice stay. The desk reservationist, Kailae, was sweet, accommodating and very attentive to our requests and questions. The room was comfortable, clean, and quiet in its surroundings. We enjoyed our stay very much.

There are plenty of medical resources, restaurants and retail businesses conveniently surrounding this location. We stayed here to be close to the surgical center and the eyecare office. The staff are wonderfully patient and helpful as well. Peter, at the front desk, even helped me open my salsa and queso jars. We enjoyed having access to the breakfast buffet, pool and hot tub, but passed on the 24 hour fitness room. We've even made reservations to stay here again for the 2nd surgery.

Room was nice and clean, but A/C filters were a little dirty. Not easy to get to, but does have some room for larger vehicles on the far side of the motel towards the highway beside the Christmas store. It's located behind the Home Depot.

This is the second time we have stayed at the location (last time bing 2014) and it is just as nice as we remembered. It's a quiet location and the price can't be beat. The staff have taken the time to decorate for fall/halloween which makes it nice and cozy. Brekfast was good, the coffee hot and delcious, and the staff all very nice. The pool and hot tub were an added bonus. We will definitely stay here again. Excellent value.
